What should we give?

Updated: Mar 26, 2019

In a world bursting in terror, who of us think about how should we give?

We can change our profile pictures on social media to show we care and are solidary with their pain.

We can fight for a country, the people or any other we sympathize, but can we actually do something?

This week I watched a video of an innocent little boy raised under terror. He was given a knife and a teddy bear. Instantaneously he grabbed the knife and cut the teddy bear’s head off.

I also saw another video of another innocent little boy given a bat to destroy a piñata. He didn’t want to. He went and hugged it instead.

What are teaching our children?

Are we teaching them to train and hate those that made us slaves, any kind of bad, abused or betrayed us? Or are we teaching them to be really happy, forgive, do to others what we would like to have done to us?

Terror is to see children finding fun in beheading a toy, later a person.

Terror is to not have an option of a different life, and when having, be compared with assassins.

Terror is to see our youth being recruited as suicide bombers, while those who boss them, watch and laugh at people’s fears.

Terror is to live in this nonsense.

To the liars, terrorists and hypocrites, Jesus Christ himself said:

"You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)

After watching this video, it’s so clear that those of us who judge, mistreat, gossip about, terrorize, kill and lie to others are acting exactly like those leaders that washed their hands and preferred to crucify the Savior.

He also said:

"If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.” (John 15:18-19)

If we are for Him, who will be against us? Maybe the entire world, but we will be ready.

What shall we give to this people and to the world?

Maybe we should ask, what Christ would give?

Iit's Thanksgiving. It's a time to be grateful before giving. It’s thankfulness and giving.

Soon it’s Christmas time. Do not take Christ from CHRISTmas. It’s His birth being celebrated. This is not a ”getting” time, but giving season.

So, what shall we give? What shall we give to Christ?

What shall we give to the babe in the manger,

What shall we offer the child in the stall?
